Gates: Friday, April 7, 2017 at age 102. Predeceased by his loving wife of 68 years, Jean Cardinale; great granddaughter, Juliana LaMonica; brother, Mario Cardinale; sisters, Lucia Galanti and Kay Fiorino. He is survived by his sons, Charles (Sharon) Cardinale, Paul (Vicki) Cardinale, Daniel (Terry) Cardinale; grandchildren, Christine (Michael) LaMonica, Lisa Cardinale, Mark Cardinale, Erin Cardinale (fiancé, Jim Johnson); great grandchildren, Mason, Andrew, Daniel, Quinn, Molly and Bree; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Cardinale was an Army Veteran of WWII who served in both the Normandy Invasion and The Battle of the Bulge, and then served as an Army Reservist for 28 years. He was an active member of the Gates Republican Club, VFW Post 1457, Honeoye Hemlock American Legion Post 1278, and was an usher at St. Helen’s Church. He was also a retiree of General Railway Signal.
Friends may call TUESDAY, April 11, from 5:00-8:00 PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Wednesday morning, April 12, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30 in St. Helen’s Church, 310 Hinchey Road. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Honor Flight Rochester, Inc., PO Box 23581, Rochester, NY 14692 in his memory.
