Bovenzi, Joseph P. “Joe”
Gates: passed away suddenly on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at the age of 74.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Annette; five children; Paul (Heather), Kara (Mike), Matthew (Megan), Renee (Francesco) and Gregory (Massimiliano); twelve grandchildren, Grace, Lila, Joseph, Kaelib, Mora, Aaron, Frankie, Molly, Sadie, Claire, Ramona and Cleo; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Betty Bovenzi, Mark (Marcia) Rossi, Joanne Rossi, Rita (Mike) Ryan; many cherished nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Anna, and his brother Anthony.

Joseph was born July 9th, 1943 in Rochester, New York to Frank and Anna (Parrinello) Bovenzi. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1962. On September 10, 1966 he married the former Annette Rossi of Rochester. Joseph retired from GM Delco Products after 38 years and more recently drove a school bus for the Rochester City School District for 13 years. Joe was loved by all who knew him. His kindness and gentleness were his most admired qualities. He was best known for his devotion to his wife and dedication to his family. Joseph was happiest when he was sitting in his favorite chair surrounded by his family, good Italian food, and his grandchildren. He quietly and faithfully took care of, and cherished, all of his loved ones for his entire life.

Friends may call MONDAY from 4-8PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Tuesday Dec. 12th all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30 in St. Theodore’s Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the School of the Holy Childhood 100 Groton Parkway, Rochester, NY 14623 in his memory http://www.holychildhood.org/. A special thanks to the emergency room staff at Unity Hospital for their efforts, kindness and professionalism.
