Gates: Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at age 85. Predeceased by his daughter, Lucy Malvaso. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Italia (Falco) Varricchio; daughter and sons-in-law, Caroline and Dr. Richard Gagnier, Mark Malvaso; grandchildren; Kristin Malvaso, Lauren Malvaso (fiancé, Matthew Habets), Dr. Celeste Gagnier (Dr. Glenn Stokken), Dr. Michael (Dr. Elizabeth) Gagnier, Dominique Gagnier; great granddaughter, Maya Rose Stokken; brother, Enrico Varricchio; sister, Ida Varricchio; many relatives in Italy. Tony was a member of the Gates Amita Club, a retiree of Union Local 435, and a Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War.
No prior calling. On Saturday, February 9, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30 at St. Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Rd., Gates. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Benincasa, 3880 Rush Mendon Rd., Mendon, NY 14506 in his memory. Tony’s family would like to thank his special neighbors and the caring staff at Benincasa for their love and support given to him and his family.
