Gates: unexpectedly on Sunday, February 3, 2019, at age 80. Predeceased by her husband, Alessandro Rossi; sister, Giovanna (Vittorio) DiFrancesco; brother-in-law, Joseph Sanfilippo. She is survived by her children, Matilda Rossi, Tony (Tabatha) Rossi; grandchildren, Jeremy Rossi, Alex and Ayla Rossi; sister, Vivian Sanfilippo; brother, Vittorio (Nunzia) Strano of Italy; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends here and in Italy.
Maria was a retiree of Rochester Products and a member of the Italian American Community Center. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her “Panera” group.
Friends may call WEDNESDAY from 3-7PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd., Gates. On Thursday, February 7, all are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Jude’s Church, 4100 Lyell Rd. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 in her memory.
