DiPonzio, Dominic A.
Gates/Greece: Peacefully, Thursday, March 30, 2023, at age 94. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife and best friend for over 70 years, Elisabeth “Betty” DiPonzio; daughter and son-in-law, Dona and Robert Bellis; sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Roseanne DiPonzio, Christopher and Nancy DiPonzio, Jason DiPonzio; grandchildren, Shaina (Anthony) Santos of FL, Erin (Jeremy) Livingston of NJ, Dominic “DJ” (Elizabeth) DiPonzio, Joseph (Lindsay) DiPonzio of FL, Merrill DiPonzio, Tyler DiPonzio; great grandchildren, Mia, Aiden, Avery, Jordan, Liam, Rosie, Lola and Lilliana; brother-in-law, Salvatore Magliozzi; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is also predeceased by his father and mother, Joseph F. and Lydia DiPonzio; brother, Anthony DiPonzio; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Rose Magliozzi and sister-in-law, Antoinette Magliozzi.
Dominic was the founder of the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc. in Gates in 1973. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Gates AMITA Club, Brook-Lea Country Club, ITAM, Gates Men's Republican Club, Gates Republican Town and County Committee, and Serapo Club.
Dom was a man of his word. He loved his family deeply and was dedicated to his profession. He will be missed by all knew and loved him.
Friends may call MONDAY from 3-7PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30AM at St. Theodore’s Church. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, our family kindly asks that you consider a donation to St. Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Road, Rochester, NY 14606, or to Honor Flight Rochester, Inc., PO Box 23581, Rochester, NY 14692 in his memory.
His family would like to thank the staff on the 4200 Unit at Unity Hospital, as well as the Staff at Elderwood of Lakeside at Brockport for their loving and compassionate care.
