Obituary for Earl M. Tyler

Tyler, Earl M.
Spencerport: Suddenly, Saturday, December 18, 2021, at age 75. Predeceased by his wife, Teresa [Mingoea] Tyler; son, Mark Tyler; brothers-in-law, Jack Burke and Sal Mingoea. He is survived by his daughter, Michele (Stephen) Doud; grandson and best buddy in the whole wide world, Maxwell Tyler Doud; son, Paul (Cyndy) Tyler; step-grandchildren, Stephen (Natalie), Scott, and Dana Doud; sisters-in-law, Josephine Burke and Sue Mingoea; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; beloved grand nieces, Alexandra “Al-Bell” and Emily “Memily” Schmitt.
After retiring from the optics division at Eastman Kodak Company, Earl went on to have a second career in the blood products division at Johnson and Johnson for many years. But no job was more important than how he spent his days after retirement…filling the role of Papa. Earl took care of his grandson in every sense of the word for all of the 16 years leading up to his passing. Earl spent his weekdays caring for Maxwell while his parents worked, but it didn’t end there. Papa was always the one volunteering to cart Max to karate and music lessons. Papa was there every afternoon to welcome his grandson home as he got off the bus, no matter how old Max got. He never missed a competition, a performance or any other moment in Max’s life. He loved his little rock star with every inch of his being, and he helped raise Max to be the beautiful soul he is today. Earl’s impact and his legacy is seen in every aspect of his grandson’s life. All who knew him, know his love for his family was immeasurable, as was ours for him.
Friends may call, THURSDAY, Dec. 23, from 4:00- 7:00 pm at DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. A short prayer service will follow in the funeral home. As Earl loved music and his grandson’s passion for performing, we ask that donations be made, in lieu of flowers, to Allendale Columbia School’s Music Program, 519 Allens Creek Road, Rochester, NY 14618 in Earl’s honor.
