Elaine Masiello-Fico
Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at age 73. She is the granddaughter of Giovanni and Assunta Cantisano, the founders of the Ragu Sauce Company. She is predeceased by her father and mother, Michael and Adeline Masiello; sister, Janet Ricciuto. She is the loving wife of Louis J. Fico since July 16, 1994, almost 29 years. She has been a mom to the children of Louis: Krista Fico (Debbie Dengel), Matthew (Ashley) Fico, Alyssa Ayne (Mike) Ulmer; a grandmother to Jaxon Joseph and Maya Lee Ulmer. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Adele Fico (Bill Buechel) and brother-in-law, Daniel (Lisa) Fico; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Elaine was very active in our community. She was a member of the Financial Board and volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital for many years. She was a buyer of accessories and jewelry for their gift shop, and transported patients when needed. As a child, she attended Most Precious Blood grammar school and then graduated from Gates-Chili High School. She went on to Nazareth College for undergraduate and graduate school, earning two master’s degrees in business and education. She taught in the Gates-Chili School District, and also tutored young pregnant women so they may graduate.
She was board member of the Italian American Community Center and Camp Stella Maris for many years. She was a member of the Gates Amita Club, chairwoman of the Junior Miss Scholarship Program, and a member of the Gates Women’s Republican Club promoting their political candidates. In addition, since her marriage to Louis, she was employed as the office manager at their business, Repair and Refinish Collision. For the past 7 years, she has worked at J.P. Morgan Chase as an associate banker. Elaine had many hobbies, in which baking was one of her favorites. She has touched the lives and hearts of many and will be deeply missed by all.
No prior calling. On Monday, May 22, 2023, all are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 10:30AM at Corpus Christi Church (E. Main St. and Prince St.). Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Mr. Fico will personally invite only those residents of the Villas of Fieldstone that he would like to attend her mass. Please abide by his wishes. There will be no reception following cemetery services. Her family would like to only console each other in private.
