Rochester: Saturday, July 8, 2023, after a courageous battle with a prolonged illness, at age 75. Predeceased by her parents, Angelo “Jake” & Jean Cocuzzi; father-in-law & mother-in-law, Victor “Bert” & Angelina “Angie” Lipani; brothers, Franklin, Thomas, and John Cocuzzi; brother-in-law, Carl Martel. She is survived by her loving, devoted husband of 54 years, Victor; sons, Anthony (Cheryl) and Michael (Yvonne); grandchildren, Jenna, Jake, Allison, Cayden, Angelena, and Kendall; sister, Laurie Aubel; sisters-in-law & brother-in-law, Joyce Martel, Diane (Manny) Candelaria, and Roxanne Cocuzzi; dear niece, Sara Aubel; many other nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Gina had worked at Genesee Hospital in the 1960’s – 1970’s, and at the Pediactrics Office of Dr. Chamberlain & Dr. Sullivan in the 1980’s -1990’s.
Some of her fondest memories were spending time at the family cottage at Cape Vincent and most recently wintering in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.
Gina was a great example of love without even having to try. Everything she did, every action, decision, conversation & situation was filled with love.
Her actions always spoke so loudly, she never had to say a word. Gina loved watching her children & grandchildren play sports, the New York Yankees & she loved to cook for her family.
Memorial Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-5:00 pm at DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Monday, July 17, all are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 9:30 am in St. Theodore Church. Inurnment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, c/o Rochester Regional Health Foundations, 330 Monroe Ave., Suite 400, Rochester, NY 14607 in her memory.
