Gates/Chili – Thursday, August 17,2023 at age 81. After a courageous battle with cancer, loving wife, mother, daughter and sister who had a passion for making places and spaces beautiful. She welcomed many friends into her home throughout her life – sharing holiday meals and Christmas cookies. We love and miss you.
Predeceased by her father and mother, George and Roberta Plato and brother Donald Plato. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Douglas R. Smith; children, Keith (Kathleen) Smith, Cheryl (Christopher) Coan of CO; grandchildren, Nathan and Erin Smith; sister, Shirley (William) Sutton; many nieces and nephews. Jo-Ann was a member of Brook Lea Country Club.
No prior calling. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at St Pius X Church in Chili NY on September 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Those wishing, donations may be directed to Salvation Army, 70 Liberty Pole Way, Rochester, NY 14602 in her memory.
