Rochester: Thursday, February 1, 2024, in her 100th year. Predeceased by her husband, Maurice Wattie; grandson, Joseph Maurice Wattie; father and mother, Steve and Lucia Clementi; brothers, Philip Clementi, Tony Clementi, Frank Clementi and Steven Clementi; sisters, Rose Durante, Pat Pingatore, Nancy Podushak and Antoinette Katzer. She is survived by her sons, Joseph (Geraldine) Wattie, Richard (Annette) Wattie, David (Marilyn) Wattie; grandchildren, James (Amanda) Wattie, Alissa (Dr.Caren) DiBernardo, Anthony Wattie (Dr. Stephanya Shear), Jennifer Wattie (Dave), Richard (Kristin) Wattie, Russell (Jaime) Wattie, Breeze Wattie; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Mary Ruehl of WI; many nieces and nephews.
Josephine was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner at Holy Cross Church. She enjoyed music, golf, traveling, cooking, baking, bowling, cards, and her sewing club. Most of all, she loved and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will be remembered mostly for her deep love of family, compassion, and generosity. She enjoyed her brief career at McCurdy’s Department Store.
Friends may call MONDAY from 4-7PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Tuesday, February 13, all are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 9:30AM at St. Lawrence Church, 1000 N. Greece Rd. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Alzheimer’s Assoc., 200 Meridian Centre Blvd., Suite 110, Rochester, NY 14618 in her memory.
