Rochester: Thursday, January 21, 2021, surrounded by her family, at age 73.
Karen was born on June 30, 1947 in Rochester, the daughter of the late Peter and Johanna (Scicolone) Arnone.
On April 27, 1968, she married Glenn C. Smythe at Holy Apostles Church. He predeceased her on April 3, 2007.
Karen devoted her entire life to her husband and children.
Karen is survived by her children, Dawn (John) Wesley of Walworth; Chad (Cheyanna) Smythe of Utica; Concetta (Brittany) Smythe of Buffalo. Grandchildren, John Wesley III, Paige Dauphinee, Aidan and Nickolas Smythe. Siblings Jody DeLucia and Divina Arnone. Chosen sister Jeannie Colombo. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends may call Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 4:00-7:00 PM at DiPonzio Funeral Home Inc., 219 Spencerport Road., Gates. On Thursday, Jan.28, all are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM in St. Theodore Church, 168 Spencerport Road. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, interment will be private at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
