Girard, Kathleen L.
Gates: Monday, December 28, 2020, at age 84. Predeceased by her parents, Herman and Ruth Fuchs; brother, James (Doris) Fuchs; sister, Rosemary (Bruce) Schnurr. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Joseph A. Girard; children, Michael (Maria) Girard, Tamara (Timothy) Babbitt, Kristin Girard, Laurie Hammond; grandchildren, Nichole Girard, Michael Girard, William Babbitt, Larkin (Andrew) Babbitt, Theo Babbitt, Emily Girard-Baker, Lewis Hammond; great grandchildren, John Paul Felix, Amiyah Peterson; sisters-in-law, Loretta Sampson, Patricia Girard, Terri (Ron) Orris; many nieces, nephews and beloved friends. She was an active member of St. Jude’s Parish and retired from Alexander Medical Group.
Kathy was a daughter, wife, mother and friend. She excelled in each of those roles. She was funny, loving, and most importantly, she was kind. She would do anything for anyone, and loved giving of herself. Her Catholic faith was a cornerstone in her life. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren—they were the lights of her life. They take comfort that Kathy is watching over them now.
No prior calling. On Saturday, January 2, all are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 10:00AM at Parish of the Holy Family Church, 4100 Lyell Rd. Interment, Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (donors @stjude.org) in her memory. Kathleen’s family would like to thank Dr. Sylvia Park and the staff from U of R Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
