O’Brien, Mary Ann (Ruffo)
Peoria, AZ: Joined the Lord on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at age 80. Predeceased by her parents, Sam and Rose (Maurizio) Ruffo; uncle, Ralph Maurizio. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Ann (Olaf Haar) O’Brien; son, Robert (Elena) O’Brien; grandchildren Cole and Clay Atkerson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mary Ann’s passion for caring for children brought her to the Discovery Daycare in Rochester, NY before relocating to Peoria to be closer to family. She continued her passion at the Lincoln Learning Center in Phoenix, AZ where she always treated every child as one of her own until her retirement. She was an avid baseball fan and her love for the Yankees was unparallel. She enjoyed knitting with her girlfriends every week and could always catch her with a book in her hand.
Friends may call Monday, February 12, 4:00-7:00PM at DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd, Gates. On Tuesday, all are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at Parish of the Holy Family Church, 4100 Lyell Rd. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
