Rochester: Sunday, November 7, 2021, at age 96. Predeceased by his wife, Helen; son, Michael and grandson, Steven Blahyj. He is survived by his daughters, Leslie (Russell) Licata, Katherine (Mike) DiNapoli; grandchildren, Michael Gruttadauria, Alicia (Paul) Soulis, Melanie Gibson, Andrea Blahyj, Natalie (Michael) Payne, Justin M. (Amy) Velez, Michael DiNapoli, Phillip DiNapoli, Joseph DiNapoli, Erica (Anthony Costigan) DiNapoli, R.J. (Sallie) Licata; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Marion Petrella; brother-in-law, Patrick Bianchi; many beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Mike was a Navy Veteran of WWII where he served in Normandy. He was a retired painting contractor and is a member of the Rochester Bowling Hall of Fame.
Friends may call SUNDAY from 1-4PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Monday, November 15, friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30AM at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Wounded Warriors Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675 in his memory.
