Rochester: Passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the age of 87. Roy was predeceased in death by his parents, Thomas and Florence Keenan; sister, Violet (Sam) Thompson; brothers, T. Henry (Dolly), James (Bertha), Charles; sister in law, Jean (Marshall), son-in-law Monte LeBlanc; Doris Keenan, infant daughters, Gail and Brenda, and infant great grandson Jack Popielarz. Roy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Constance Jean “CJ” Keenan; his devoted sister Joanne (Ora) Rothfuss; sister-in-law, Mary Keenan; his step-children, John (Wendy) Oliver, Jacqueline (Fred) Cuccaro; children Gary (Beth McLean) Keenan, Richard (Lori) Keenan, Deborah LeBlanc, Kathleen (David) Cannon, Donna (Paul) Hardmeyer; grandchildren, Michael LeBlanc, Angela (Rich) Malizia, Pamela (Christopher) Popielarz, Matthew (Jamie) Keenan, Christopher (Melanie) Keenan, Zachary Hardmeyer, Nicole Oliver, Rachel Oliver, Alexandra Cuccaro, Sophia Cuccaro; 5 great grandchildren, Cecily and Ben Popielarz, Mackenzie Keenan, Gaetano Malizia, Aubrey Keenan. Roy also leaves many loving nieces and nephews. Roy was a retiree of Eastman Kodak Company. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, an avid fan of baseball, golf, nature, and working with his hands. Roy took joy from friends, family, and the beauty and simple pleasures of everyday life.
Friends may call FRIDAY Only from 4:00-7:00 PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Tuesday, June 4, all are invited to attend his Funeral Services at 10:00AM in Christ Our Light Chapel at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roy’s memory to Humane Society at Lollipop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY 14450. Our entire family is grateful to the staff of Edna Tina Wilson, Country Wing, for their devoted compassionate care of Roy. They often brought a smile to his face and their kindness brought his family much comfort.
