Rochester: Friday, September 23, 2022, at age 81. Predeceased by his wives, Diane Cucchiara and Suhila Cucchiara; father and mother, Calogero and Paola Cucchiara; brothers, Philip, and Salvatore Cucchiara; sister, Marianna Cassarino. He is survived by his children, Patricia (Jeff) Newton, Charles (April) Cucchiara, Annette Cucchiara; grandchildren, Sammy Cucchiara and Nikolas Newton; sisters, Susan (Lew) Palermo, Rita Cucchiara and Mary Davis; brother, Anthony (Isabelle) Cucchiara; many nieces and nephews.
Pasquale "Pat" Cucchiara emigrated from Sicily in 1956. The eldest son in a family of 8, Pat was a loyal and dedicated brother who put the needs of his large family before all else. As his good fortune continued in later years, Pat was married to two special women and supported both through illnesses that would eventually make him a widower. He found strength and solace in his family, and he would frequently remind them that they weren't complete without each other. Pat's message held true in the last days of his life as he was surrounded by his sisters, brothers, spouses, nieces, nephews, and the unwavering love of his three children. His family's support was a testament to how he lived his life, selflessly, courageously, and never without encouraging words to say to anyone that needed it. Pat's passing has left a gaping hole in the hearts of all who knew him, but we take comfort in remembering the special moments we shared with him.
Friends may call MONDAY from 4-8PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd., Gates. On Tuesday, September 27, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 11:00AM at Parish of the Holy Family Church, 4100 Lyell Rd. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to National Kidney Foundation, 1344 University Ave., Rochester, NY 14607 in his memory.
