Gates: Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at age 90. Predeceased by his loving wife, Carmela (Suero) Russo; father and mother, Carmine and Marianna Russo; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Pasqualina Suero, Maria and Andrew Insogna, Isabella Suero, Carol Suero. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann (Tim) Whitehair; grandchildren, Andrea (Lloyd) Ruffle, Christopher Whitehair (fiancee, Lisa Zou), Gina Whitehair (fiancé, Garrett Rhone); great grandchildren, Bryce, Ryan, Avery, Gavyn, Aubry, Greyson, Gabriella and Olivia; brother, Antonio (Antonietta) Russo of Italy; brothers-in-law, Clemente Suero and Anthony Suero; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Russo was a longtime member of the Italian American Sport Club.
Friends may call Monday from 4-7PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd., Gates. On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, all are invited to attend his funeral services at 11:00AM in the funeral home. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Autism Speaks, PO Box 37148, Boone, Iowa 50037 in his memory.
