O’Mara, Patrick J.
Kissimmee, FL/Gates, NY: Sunday, September 26, 2021, at age 81. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 38 years Lorraine {Bianchi} O’Mara; father, NY Supreme Court Justice Daniel J. O’Mara; mother, Hildegarde O’Mara; brothers, Daniel O’Mara, Jr. and Michael O’Mara; brother-in-law, Frank Rizzo; sister-in-law, Nancy O’Mara; nephew, Christopher Hoone. He is survived by his loving wife Jane {Rosenthal} O’Mara; children, Sean (Elena) O’Mara, Todd (Allyson) O’Mara, Patrick (Drena) O’Mara and Shannon O’Mara; grandchildren, Connor, Garrett, Madisyn, Claudia, Emmersyn, Brendan, Teagan, Hudson, and Brayden; sisters, Kay O. Ellis and Colleen O’Mara; sister-in-law, Patricia Rizzo; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He graduated from Aquinas Institute of Rochester and then earned a degree in Accounting from Bentley College in 1962. He served in the United States Army National Guard for over 25 years in Rochester, NY and retired as Sergeant First Class in 1998. Upon his retirement, he worked at the Democrat & Chronicle newspaper for a few years. In search of more sun and less snow, he and Jane moved to Kissimmee, FL where he enjoyed a few retirement years working at Disney Theme Parks where he delighted guests as they entered the park. He was a lifelong avid golfer and Buffalo Bills fan. He was so very proud of his children and grandchildren and will be dearly missed by his loved ones.
Friends may call Friday, October 8, from 4:00-7:00 pm at DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. Funeral Services Saturday morning at 10:00AM in the funeral home. Entombment, Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to AdventHealth Celebration, 400 Celebration Place, Kissimmee, FL 34747 or the National Kidney Foundation, 1344 University Ave. #270, Rochester, NY 14607 in his memory.
