Obituary for Patsy Cammilleri

July 30, 2023
Patsy J. Cammilleri, (89) passed passed peacefully into the comfort of the Lord’s hands.
Born March 18, 1934, Pat (aka Junior) was the youngest son of Pasquale and Rosa (Caetta)
Cammilleri. He joins them along with his beloved siblings: Leo (Angela), Jack (Rose), Joseph
(Lillian), Sam (Josephine), Angelo (Sidney), Theresa (Don) Nightengale, Connie (Dave) Militello,
May (Warren) Neracker, Josephine (Sam) Furnari and his younger sister Isabel (Norm) Dix. The
stories they could — and DID — tell!
Pat frequently reflected on his good fortune to have had such a wonderful life. Following the
passing of his first love, Dorothy (Raymond) in 1987, he was blessed once again when Roma
(Della Cioppa/Desiato) became his bride. Roma’s beloved family joined ours. Angelo (d) (Lori)
and Joe Desiato; Linda (d) and her son Anthony; Donna (Mike) Averill and Gabriel, Mike and
Danny; and Anthony Desiato. Pat and Roma shared the last 33 years together alternating
between their lovely homes in N. Chili, New York and Boca Raton, Florida.
We believe that as our love one’s journey ends, they help prepare a place for those left behind.
Luckily, Pat is going to be quite busy. In addition to his loving wife Roma, Pat will be waiting
for his daughter, Deb (Terry) Henretty, his beloved son and best friend, Pastor Joseph (Nicolea)
Cammilleri and 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren…

Pat is also survived by a countless number of beloved nieces and nephews, sister-in-law
Sidney Cammilleri, and wonderful friends… especially life-long friends Casper Pignato and
Michael Biondi.
In addition to loving spending time with family and friends, Pat was passionate about golf,
enjoyed the game of football (he played for Jefferson High School) and was known to have
taken an occasional tour of casinos both here and in LasVegas.
These are just a few of the highlights of a full life. We will miss him but look forward to sharing
tears, laughter and memories with family and friends. Visitation will be held at DiPonzio Funeral
Home, 219 Spencerport Road, Rochester, NY, on Wednesday, August 2, from 10 am to Noon.,
with a brief service following. At the request of the family, a private interment will follow the
visitation.
The family looks forward to hosting a Celebration of Life on August 28. In lieu of flowers,
please consider a donation to The Aurora House in Spencerport, NY. A heartfelt thanks to their
wonderful staff for the tender, loving care they provided to Pat and his family as he moved to
his heavenly home
