Predeceased by her loving husband Joseph of 52 years; parents, Paul and Lillian Palermo; brother, Anthony Palermo, and many other dear relatives and friends.
She is survived and deeply missed and will be loved always and forever by her loving daughter, Michele Steffen and son-in-law Chuck; sons, Ricky Mantisi and daughter-in-law JoAnn, and Patrick Mantisi; grandchildren, Maro (Amanda) Avallone, Nadine Avallone, Lindsay Frank, Zackery and Mitchell Mantisi and Great Grandchildren that she adored, Vincent, Ryker and Harper; her loving sister, Pat Formicola; and many dear family members and friends.
Phyllis (my Mama) was a kind, selfless and fun loving spirit. She devoted her love and life to her husband, children, grandchildren and then especially her great grandchildren! She loved to shop, make ceramics and crochet blankets for everyone, always thinking of others and wanting to give. She was also a big jokester and loved a good laugh. She will be deeply missed by so many. Find peace in knowing that she is not alone and happy with my father and her precious dog Bella, right where she wanted to be for so many years.
A very special thanks to all the staff at Hilton East Assisted Living Facility for making my Mom’s last part of her journey special and meaningful for her after the loss of my dad. They kept her days filled and brought her back to life. Also, a very special thanks to the staff at Hildebrandt for the kindness and special care they provided my mother and my family during a sad time.
Honoring Phyllis’ wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are welcome to attend her Funeral Mass on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, 9: 30 at St. Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Rd, Rochester, NY 14606. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and in her honor, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620, or the National Alopecia Areata Foundation, 65 Mitchell Blvd. Suite 200-B, San Rafael, CA 94903.
