Pisaturo, Rosalba J. (Farace)

Gates: Thursday, January 5, 2023, at age 74. Predeceased by her parents, Michele Farace and Josephine Lanzatella. She is survived by her loving husband, John J.Pisaturo; daughters, Nicole Pisaturo, Renee (Anthony) Piazza; grandchildren, Serafina and Giovanni; brother, Salvatore (Mary Jo) Farace; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Rose Ann and Samuel Jackling, Sandra Pisaturo; uncles, Angelo DiCataldo, Emilio DiCataldo; many nieces and nephews.

Rosalba was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend as well as an educator, mentor, and servant throughout the Italian community of Rochester. She dedicated her life’s work to teaching and honoring Italian language, history and culture. At Nazareth College Rosalba established the Italian Language Department and 4-year degree program, and later, Casa Italiana, where she directed and promoted Italian studies, history, art, and music. She served as President for the International Sister Cities of Rochester (ISCOR) and as a chairperson for the Association of Teen-Age Diplomats (ATAD) where she devoted over 30 years to the exchange student program between Rochester and Caltanissetta, Italy. Rosalba later worked as a professor of both Italian and Spanish languages at Monroe Community College (MCC) and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). She also shared her profound love of opera and opera education as a committee member with the Opera Guild of Rochester, presenting lectures for several years. Rosalba will always be remembered for her many contributions and the many lives she touched and inspired.

No prior calling. On Saturday. January 14, 2023, all are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 9:30AM at St. Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Road. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Those wishing, donations may be directed to American Cancer Society, 1120 South Goodman St., Rochester, New York 14620 in her memory.
