Greece: Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at age 89. Predeceased by one brother and two sisters in Italy. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Josephine Giarratano; children, Joseph (Janet) Giarratano, Rosina (John) Kowalski, John Giarratano, Tony Giarratano; grandchildren, Julie Giarratano (Shawn Riley), Jackie Giarratano, Jessica (Slobadon) Nikic, Milo, Carmen and Isabella Kowalski, Sam, Jocelyn and Savonnah Giarratano; great grandchildren, Silas, Travis and Theo; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call FRIDAY from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd., Gates. On Saturday, May 11, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30 in St. Theodore’s Church. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Catholic Family Center, 87 N. Clinton Ave., Rochester, NY 14604 or to Episcopal Senior Life Communities, 505 Mt. Hope Ave., Rochester, NY 14620 in his memory. Salvatore’s family would like to thank Dr. Anthony Ragusa, The Catholic Family Center, and the staff at The Episcopal Church Home for their loving and compassionate care.
