Vitale, Salvatore “Sam” Vitale
Gates: Saturday, December 9, 2023, surrounded by his family, at age 91. Predeceased by his parents, Calogero & Josephine Vitale; brothers, John (Bert) and Vincent (Lula Mae) Vitale; sisters, Angelina (Nicholas) Trotto, Maria Vitale, and Grace (Peter) Buda; sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Filomena & Peter Vizzini, Angie & Dr. Eugene Quash, John Nacca, and Patsy Nacca. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jane [Nacca] Vitale; children, Michele Vitale, Michael Vitale, Marleen (Rob) Loschiavo, and Matthew (Mariauxy) Vitale; beloved granddaughter, Gianna Loschiavo; sister, Concetta Gilbert; sister-in-law, Liliana Nacca; nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Sam was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He owned and operated Fashions by Michael Hair Salon for over 30 years. He was on the Board of Directors of the New York State Cosmetology Association. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
No prior calling. On Friday, December 15, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 11:15 am in St. Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Road, Gates. Entombment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, because of their dedication and assistance over the years, donations may be made to Gates Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc., 1001 Elmgrove Road, Rochester, NY 14624 (www.gatesems.org) in his memory.
