Gates: Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at age 80. Predeceased by his wife, Mary Ann Avelli; son, Gino Avelli; father and mother, Gino and Jenny Avelli; sister and brothers-in-law, Grace and Alfio Coco, Felice Baglio; many other brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. He is survived by his daughter, Jenny (Mike) Haines; grandchildren, Tiana, Adam and Lia Haines; sisters, Elda Baglio, Rosalba Guarino; brother-in-law, Art Grieco; sisters-in-law, Linda Grieco, MaryAnn Grieco; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Avelli was a retiree of Rochester Linoleum and Carpet Center and a Navy Veteran of Vietnam.
Friends may call MONDAY from 4-7PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Rd., Gates. On Tuesday, November 21, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 9:30AM at St. Theodore’s Church. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, c/o Rochester Regional Health Foundation, 330 Monroe Ave., Suite 400, Rochester, NY 14607 in his memory.
