Gates: Friday, January 6, 2023, at age 92. Predeceased by her husband, Ioannis; son, Nikolas. She is survived by her sons, Andreas, Konstantinos, and Michael (Melanie) Savidis; grandchildren, Joanna Suwyn, Ioannis (AnaLucia) Savidis, Panagiotis (Kia Marie) Savidis, Nickolas (Evangelia) Savidis, Yianni Savidis, Walter (Marissa) Savidis, and Adoniadis Savidis; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Dimitri Hougiaridis; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in the U.S. and abroad.
Stella came to Rochester in 1965 and was for many years a seamstress at Hickey-Freeman. She was always hard working and in 1976, after her husband’s passing, she continued to raise her sons. Stella was devoted to family and enjoyed preparing for gatherings which included her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Always faithful to her church, she was a beloved member of Rochester’s Greek Community.
Friends may call Wednesday, January 11, from 9:00-11:00 am at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation where her Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 11:00 am. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, 962 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14607 in her memory.
