Gates: Went to her final heavenly home on Monday, August 14, 2023, at age 96. She fought her long battle with Alzheimer’s with grace, dignity and most of all, humor. She is predeceased by her husband, Leonardo Petruzzi; 5 brothers and 3 sisters; nephew, Angelo D’Ambrosio; niece, Anna Radogna; and many special friends. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Mary Jane (Dr. Wayne Waz) Petruzzi; beloved grandson, Tomas Leonardo Waz; nieces and nephews, Filomena (Vincenzo) Miale, Dominic (Linda) D’Ambrosio, Nicholas (Lavinia) D’Ambrosio. Cecilia D’Ambrosio, Anthony Radogna, Celeste Fiermonte, Teodorico (Jennifer) Miale; many other nieces and nephews. Mrs. Petruzzi was a retiree of Hickey-Freeman after 37 years of service, and was a devoted member of St. Anthony of Padua Church
Friends may call Saturday, August 19 from 8:00AM to 9:00AM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 9:30AM at St. Theodore’s Church, 168 Spencerport Road. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Those wishing, donations may be directed to Mercy Nursing Facility at OLV, 55 Melroy Ave., Buffalo NY 14218 in her memory.
