SCOTTSVILLE: Carolann passed peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, June 10, 2016 at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, John J “Jack” Leonard, parents Edmund & Marion Winterkorn, brother Rev. Robert J Winterkorn and sister Nancy Winterkorn.
She is survived by her seven children, Thomas of Holland, MI, Robert (Jeanne) of Churchville, James (Julie) of Westlake, OH, John (Christine) of Chili, Sharon (Jeff) Wassel of Vestal, NY, Gary (Vicki) of Victor, Maureen (Andrew) Gregoire of Hamburg, NY; her 19 adored grandchildren, Erin, Mary, Christopher, Elizabeth, Joey, Ryan, Bobby, Matthew, Monica, Scott, Kate, Jack, Jaclyn, Emily, Kelly, Hannah, Jason, Nick and Haley; her brother Edward (Bernice) Winterkorn of Greece, her sister Marilyn (H. Joseph) Weber of Irondequoit; several nieces and nephews and dear friends especially Karen Sciera, Janet Abbott and Maura LaDue.
Carolann was a 1950 graduate of Nazareth Academy. She then worked at Kodak until she started a family with Jack in 1959. She was a devout Catholic who dedicated her life to her family. She had an incredible memory and loved crossword puzzles, the daily Jumble, Jeopardy, the weather, sports and playing bridge with her friends. She will always be remembered as ‘our Mom’ first and foremost.
Her family would like to thank all of her caregivers for their love and compassion over the past 7 months.
Friends may call Monday June 13 from 3-7PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Tuesday morning, June 14, friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass at 10:00 in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 99 Main St., Scottsville. Interment, Holy Angels Cemetery, Scottsville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Scottsville Volunteer Fire Department Inc, PO Box 10, Scottsville, NY 14546 or Palliative Care Program, University of Rochester Medical Center, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Box 687, Rochester, NY 14642 in her memory.
