Martone, Michael P. Sr.
Rochester: Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at age 91. Predeceased by his twin brother, Joseph Martone; brother, Patrick Martone; sister, Ruby Pringle; parents, Patrick and Rose Martone; grandson, Donal Schweizer. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Joyce (Cramer) Martone; children, Ferne (Mark) Schnitzler, Michael P. Jr. (Joanne) Martone, John Martone (Betty Brauch), Patrick Martone, Gail (James) DiCesare; grandchildren, Michael (Kendra) Martone, Nicholas (Katy) Martone, Patrick (Jolene) Brauch, Sara Martone, Andrew Martone, Brian (Tina) DiCesare, Jeffrey (Nicole) DiCesare, Jennifer DiCesare, Jessica DiCesare; great grandchildren, Moriah, Aleah, Jonathan, Nicholas, Tyler, Nicholas, Madeline, Morgan, Brian, Anthony, Corrina, Alana and Nicholas; sister, Rita Mendelsohn; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shirley Morse, William and Shirley Cramer, John Andrews, George and Kay Pringle; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Martone was a retiree of Gannett Newspapers and a Navy Veteran of WWII. He was inducted into the Rochester Bowling Hall of Fame and had a passion for teaching the game.
Friends may call SUNDAY from 1-5PM at the DiPonzio Funeral Home, Inc., 219 Spencerport Road, Gates. On Monday morning, August 15, all are invited to attend his Funeral Mass AT 9:30 in St. Pius X Church, 3000 Chili Ave. Interment, St. Pius X Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Open Door Mission, 156 N. Plymouth Ave., Rochester, NY 14608 in his memory.
